Our Eye Care Staff 

In 1971, Dr. John M. Nevelow graduated from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry. After his residency, Dr. Nevelow opened a community family practice in San Antonio. He volunteers for local school eye screenings and "Infantsee", a free program for babies 6-12 months. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, American Public Health Association, Southwest Council of Optometry, and the Bexar County Optometric Society. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is on the Board of Directors of the Texas Optometric Association. Additionally, he is an author and does lectures. Dr. Nevelow resides in San Antonio with his lovely wife, Linda and has three daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, sports, reading and home repair. 

Dr. Erin Nevelow, daughter of Dr. Nevelow, is fondly known as Dr. Erin to avoid confusion in the office. Starting with a career in cancer research, she decided to team up with her father. In 2005 Erin graduated from her father's alma mater. After her internship, she joined the family business. Her contributions include routine eye exams, school eye screenings, the "Infantsee" program, contact lens fittings and writing monthly eye/vision articles for a neighborhood newspaper. Dr. Erin is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Bexar County Optometric Association, and the Texas Optometric Association. When she isn't making eyesight better, she loves family time, traveling and reading.

Tracy Callender has been our office manager for 7 years.  She has a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management which makes her a great business manager. Tracy is married with a daughter, Zoe. Her interests include arts and crafts, playing dress-up with Zoe and community involvement.

Nancy Dany is our optician. She has the important job of ordering the latest in frames and contact lens, staying informed about styles, trends and the best frame for your face shape and lifestyle. She carries a certification awarded by the American Board of Opticians. Nancy is married with a daughter, Melissa and enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, music, and reading.

Alexandra Weed runs our front desk and does patient care including exam pretesting, glaucoma testing and contact lens dispensing. Her years of experience as an Executive Assistant, make Alex a valuable asset to our office. In her leisure time, she likes reading, family time and traveling.
